Shopping In Milan: Fashion is the Passion
For those of you who have some extra greenbacks burning a hole in your pocketbooks Milan is the place for you. Fully immersed in fashion, there is shopping for everyone in this quaint and popular Italian city. The shops and stores range from the ultra-expensive to more affordable outlet shopping. Either way you go, fashion is the name of the game when spending your hard-earned cash in one of Italy’s most popular cities.
The Crème De La Crème: Luxury Shopping
Even the name of the city itself, Milan, suggests a certain level of decadence and luxury. Why should shopping here be any different? The amount of expensive and elegant clothing shops here is undeniably unprecedented. The streets of Via Sant’ Andrea, Via della Spiga, Via Montenapoleone, Via Manzoni, Via Borgospesso and Via Santo Spirto create what is known as the Fashion Quadrilatero.
Via Montenapoleone is full of designer showrooms including Cartier, Versace, Gucci, Prada, Luis Vuitton, and more. Then there is the Via Sant’ Andrea which offers Chanel, Kenzo, Moschino, Armani to name a few. Moving onto Via della Spiga you can feast your eyes on D&G, Sergio Rossi, Bulgari as well as others. Via Manzoni is an Armani lover’s paradise. The store offers Emporio Armani, Armani Fiori, and Armani Casa. There is also the Emporio Armani Café as well as Nobu, an elegant and tasty Japanese restaurant.
For Those with Fewer Gs
If you still want to spend some cash but you do not want to go overboard, you can still enjoy all that is for sale in Milan. Four streets where you can find more reasonable prices are Corso di Porta Ticinese, Via Torino, Corso Buenos Aires and Corso Vittorio Emanuele. On these streets you can enjoy Max Mara, H&M, Moreschi, Bruno Magli and Pollini. There are also stores devoted to Timberland, Benetton and more.
The Markets
Still there are other very distinct shopping venues in Milan and these are the fabulous markets. There is the Fiera di Senigallia, where you can buy everything from clothing to DVDs. Then, there is the Mercatone del Naviglio Granda, which is focused on antiques and features over 400 exhibitors. |
